Botswana · Circular economy platform

AFRICA,INTEGRATED.

Kopanya Group is a Botswana-registered public company building an integrated platform of agri-processing, biofuels and clean energy, designed so that each part strengthens the others and the whole serves the nation's development agenda.

Botanicals Biofuels Energy ADVISORY
The platform

Three divisions. One integrating core.

Botanical crops yield food and extracts. Their residues become fuel and feedstock. Waste becomes power. Capital, governance and assurance hold it together. Each project is planned to stand on its own; together they are designed to compound.

Agri-produce to nutraceuticals

Drought-resistant crops such as Moringa, Roselle, Kenaf and Baobab, grown and processed in Botswana into functional foods, teas and botanical extracts for regional and export markets.

Farm residues to fuel

Seed oils and crop stalks from the same fields become biodiesel and biomass pellets for mining fleets and transport, in support of the national biodiesel blending target.

Waste and sunlight to power

Botanical and municipal residues fuel dispatchable waste-to-energy generation, paired with utility-scale solar, to power the processing base and feed surplus into the national grid.

THE COREKOPANYA ADVISORY

Capital, governance and assurance are what integrate the platform. Kopanya Advisory offers that same discipline to funders and governments: independent fund assurance and administration, and policy and programme advisory.

Advisory
Knowledge · Innovation · Energy

Firm clean power, from the ground up.

Integrated clean power for an integrated economy. Kopanya Energy is the backbone of the platform, planned to de-risk every other division and to serve Botswana's ambition to become a regional energy hub.

  1. Botswana's constraint is firm, affordable power, not sunshine.

The country has one of the strongest solar resources on earth and still imports electricity. Reliable supply, not resource, is what limits industrial growth.

  2. Solar alone sells daytime power. Kopanya pairs it with baseload.

Waste-to-energy generation fuelled by the platform's own botanical and municipal residues is planned to run around the clock, so that combined supply is designed to be dispatchable.

  3. Energy therefore anchors the whole platform.

Processing runs on the platform's own power, surplus flows to the grid, and the agri and fuel divisions carry less energy risk. That is what makes the circular model bankable, and what aligns it with the national renewable energy target.

Waste-to-EnergyBotswana's first planned commercial-scale plant converting urban and botanical waste into clean electricity. Pre-feasibility.

Partnering with Botswana

A private-sector delivery partner for national priorities.

Kopanya proposes to build where Botswana's own strategies point: agro-processing and value addition, bioenergy, renewable power and private capital that follows bankable value chains. The Group seeks to partner with government on land, offtake, co-investment and blended finance, and stands ready to deliver.

"The overwhelming majority of investment required to diversify Botswana's economy must come from businesses, entrepreneurs, innovators and investors who have confidence in our country's future."Botswana Economic Transformation Programme, Mid-Year Review 2026
Vision 2036Sustainable economic development, human capital, sustainable environment and governance: each Kopanya division is designed against the four pillars.
BETPAgro-industrial parks, agriculture-based clusters, biodiesel and solar are named focus areas of the Economic Transformation Programme; they are Kopanya's three divisions.
NDP 12Diversification beyond diamonds, import substitution and rural employment through in-country beneficiation.
Energy policyBotswana's renewable energy target and biodiesel blending target are served directly by Kopanya Energy and Kopanya Biofuels.
Agricultural financeThe Agricultural Finance Strategy 2026–2031 calls for finance that follows markets, cash flows and data. Kopanya Advisory is built on that principle.

Knowledge · Innovation · Capital

Capital is available. Assurance is what unlocks it.

Across public and development finance, the binding constraint is rarely money. It is the funder's confidence that approved capital will be applied exactly as agreed. Kopanya Advisory is an independent layer between funders and recipients, protecting both sides of every funding agreement.
